Spend vs Save – Blue Block Colour Maxi Dresses by Carice Brookes
We all feel a little daunted when looking at items that are one block colour, opting usually for the little black dress instead, but it’s time to change! This week we are rocking block colour brights in blue that can be worn day and night irrespective of your budget!
We have all wandered the high street looking for the perfect maxi and this season they are back in. We are still seeing the floral, animal and gypsy prints but we are also hitting the times with one block colour impact pieces. The great triumph with maxi’s is any size or shape can wear them and look amazing and they are so versatile you can walk straight into a party and ooze confidence! Here I will share two of my favourites blue maxi dresses with you catering for our varying budgets! The Coast Blue Boadiccea Maxi Dress and the New Look Aqua Chiffon Maxi Dress!
Spend – Coast Blue Boadiccea Maxi Dress
When shopping for dresses I am often drawn in to Coast and this is where our first dress lies. The Boadiccea Maxi Dress hits you with its fierce, deep blue. This is an excellent example of a dress that can literally cater for all occasions – weddings, a day at the races, office, shopping the list goes on! Team with a pair of killer heels or wedges for a variety of different looks it is defiantly worth spending on!
The Boadiccea dress is bang in trend with a biased shoulder strap and intricate but delicate beading that brings it straight into the 1920’s trend we see coming in. The strap crosses at the shoulder and drapes down the middle of the back, wear with bare shoulders and black accessories and you have a winning evening look. If you fancy a day look then team with a short military jacket and wedges and you will stop crowds! The dress is available from a size 8-18 giving us a wide range of fittings!
This beautiful blue maxi dress comes in at £220 and is dry clean only but it is worth grabbing now as I predict they will be snapped up soon, fabulous!
Save – New Look Blue Chiffon Maxi Dress
Want the designer look for less then look no further! Let’s head to New Look as here we can find a green/aqua Chiffon Maxi Dress with a bias one shoulder strap at £44.99, oh yes that’s right what a bargain!!
Again the block colour is striking and this would make the perfect addition to any summer wardrobe! The floaty nature of the material means that you can really visualise yourself on the beach. Team with an oversized hat and flip flops and beach babe you will be!
The biased one shoulder strap means that again this dress can be used for any occasion. The top of the dress is bone pleated and fastens at the sides with a hidden zip, no one wants fastenings on show and with a statement knot on the shoulder we can gain an extra level of catwalk queen!
