With Valentines Day fast approaching and cupid warming up I have started to consider my wardrobe choices for the day of love! There are a lot of looks we could choose, romantic, classic, flirty or feminine, it can get confusing. I have found some unique pieces that not only fit into the theme but aren’t too obvious as contenders for this theme.
Oasis Baroque Sequin Skirt

I am an avid fan of vintage inspired clothing and this Oasis Black Baroque Sequin Skirt embodies my passion for vintage and my love of feminine detailing. This Baroque inspired skirt is a show stopper with an abundance of fine beading and a decadence that I have seen on the high street for a long time. The black and gold give a romantic and classical look perfect for a date!
The skirt itself is scallop shaped which adds to the illusion of curves that will work fantastically with a boyish figure. It will also drape down towards the hem making it perfect for dancing the night away in. As the skirt is heavily detailed I would team with a pair of black peep toes and a black chiffon blouse.
This sequin skirt comes in at £80 and due to the embellishments can’t be machine washed, however the classic cut and nature of this skirt means it will last for seasons to come.

Dorothy Perkins Nutmeg Palazzo Trousers
For a long time I have longed for a pair of trousers that were both feminine and practical and I have finally found them! These nutmeg pink palazzo trousers by Dorothy Perkins are perfect for valentines evening! They are floaty, romantic and the ultimate in femininity. The High Waist line (popular this Spring) makes them perfect for pear and hourglass shapes nipping you in at the mid waist point and skimming to the ground, just perfect!
For an evening look that keeps romance as the theme I would style these with a lace swing vest and kitten heels. As these trousers are floor length you can wear higher heels if needed. Imagine Farrah Fawcett in the Charlies Angels era and we have the perfect 70’s inspired chic look.
These palazzo trousers are £32 from Dorothy Perkins and will last you throughout the season, dressed up or down, for a night out or day in the office!

Accessorize Forever Pendant Necklace
When considering statement accessories this valentines day I have gone for the Alice in Wonderland, fairy tale look. Remember Carrie’s necklace in Sex and the City? Well this is what I wanted. I have chosen this Forever Necklace from Accessorize which hits the nail on the head! It has a vintage charm to it that will add to any outfit. I will place this alongside a retro blouse and jeans. Even better it’s only £6!

Calvin Klein Bouquet Rose Print Chemise
Finally, what Valentines Day would be complete without roses? This rose print chemise from Calvin Klein at Selfridges means that we can keep the romance for more than a week!
This pretty and classic chemise is not only flirty but comfortable too. It has a red lace trim adding a hint of flirtatiousness and slits on the side giving it a delicate beauty. This is the perfect accessory for a night in teamed with slouchy boots to keep our toes cosy.
This Calvin Klein piece comes in at £48 and matching thong is also available.
