Pearl Lowe, known for being the lead singer of indie bands Powder and Lodger, and for dating rockers Danny Goffery and Gavin Rossdale, turned her hand to fashion in 2006 by designing bespoke handmade dresses for Liberty’s in London. Earlier this year, she was snapped up by Peacock’s to provide a speciality range of budget clothing for the brand. Her first collection was an instant hit, and her autumn range sold out in no time! Lucky for us, Peacocks held some back, and they’ve just been re-released via their website!
Her new collection celebrates Hollywood glamour, taking inspiration from past screen icons and bringing vintage back. Button Empire Dress
The first dress I have chosen from the Pearl Lowe collection is this beautiful black empire dress. It has beautiful button detailing down the front, and long floaty sleeves. This dress would be great for women of all sizes as it’ll show off curves with it’s V-neckline and clinched-in waist.
Wear this gorgeous dress with opaque tights in black or purple, and some killer pumps. Wear a statement ring and feathered hair piece to finish off the look.
Floral Printed Shirt Dress
Pearl Lowe has kept her new collection young, fresh and right on trend. This dress is exactly what I’m talking about! This floral printed shirt dress incorporates the 50′s floral trend with the darker colours of the autumn. It has a full-buttoned front, with long sleeves and the floral pattern definitely gives off the vintage feel. It also has a matching waist-clinching belt.
Wear this dress with knee-high riding boots and cute cardie for day time, and black patent stilettos and delicate gold jewellery for an evening look.
Black Lace Dress
Another black dress in Pearl Lowe’s collection, but a magnificent one at that! This black, lace dress is beautiful and will give off a perfect hour glass figure with it’s tight, high waist. Pearl’s inspiration from past screen icons definitely screams out with this dress. It’s very early 60′s and should be given a glamorous finish with big, bold and sparkly accessories. Keep them silver and finish off with a pair of statement sky-scraper heels in black, or take a risk and pick red or electric blue!
Animal Print Shift Dress
Leopard print is the one fabric you should indulge in this autumn. It is everywhere on the high street in the form of clothing and accessories. This shift dress is stunning and would be top of my list for a little animal extravagance. It is so feminine and has a beautiful matching floral corsage. This is a fabulous dress that could be worn for work, or on a date! Keep your accessories gold, black, and simple, and let the animal in you do the rest!
Black Lace Collar Dress
To finish off Pearl Lowe’s collection of fabulous dresses for Peacocks, I have chosen this simple, 60′s inspired black dress. Again, it is very figure flattering, and has beautiful monochrome lace detail on the collar and sleeves. It has a pleated skirt, and would look great with a pair of low-heeled T-bar shoes. Be quick with this one as stock is running very low and I don’t want you to miss out!
