There’s no denying that the colder evenings are drawing in, and there’s no better feeling than wrapping yourself in a chunky cardigan to keep you warm! A comfortable cardigan is the one piece you should always have in your wardrobe, whether you want it for cosy nights in, or to throw on top of jeans and boots. The shops are swamped with cardigans of all shapes and sizes. From cropped to waterfall, and from cable knit to cashmere. You’ll find something to suit in your price range and in whatever colour you’re looking for! Wear it for all occasions, and keep your under clothing simple and stylish.
Here are my top 5 cosy cardies for Autumn 2010:
Knitted Aran Cardigan at Topshop
For an all around cardigan that would fit so easily into your wardrobe, try this cream knitted number from Topshop. Aran cardigans are the queen of the knit world! They are a bulky garment with prominent cable patterns on the chest. This cosy cardie has brown football buttons down the front and 2 large chunky pockets. It’s only £48 and was recently spotted on style icon Alexa Chung, who chose to wear it with a yellow checked dress and bare legs. Instead of just lusting after Alexa’s wardrobe, grab a piece of it now! Snap this cardigan up before it’s too late. To finish off the outfit, invest in some chunky biker boots, and wear with tights on a colder evening.

Twenty8Twelve Adeline Cashmere Mix Oversize Cardigan at My-Wardrobe.com
Now my reason for this article was this cardigan. I never come across people, let alone clothing with the same name as me, so it made me sit up and pay attention! The ADELINE cardigan by Twenty8Tweleve at my-wardrobe.com is a stunning cardigan made with cashmere and lambs wool blend. It is open-fronted with a detachable belt. It has a large collar and long sleeves with button detailing if you would prefer to wear them shorter. This adorable cosy cardie is pretty pricey at £270, but owning an item from Sienna and Savannah Miller’s Twenty8Twelve collection is worth it!
Wear it with denim and berry colours. You can never go wrong with a cardigan in grey as you can wear it time and time again and with everything!

Vila Colt Knit Cardigan at Very.co.uk
I am a big fan of Vila clothing, and was excited to come across this long knit cardigan. It is an over-sized boyfriend style, open-fronted cardigan with gorgeous patterns in clashing orange, yellow and blue, against the brown knit. It is a perfect cosy, wraparound cardie that would match a casual look of dressed down denim and knee high boots. This is a fabulous choice if you are looking for something a little different to the usual black or grey. It’s only £45 and will be sure to be a seasonal wardrobe favourite you will choose to wear time and time again.

Paul Costelloe Stripe Knit Long-line Wrap Cardigan at John Lewis
This cosy cardie is similar to the others with the open front, button-less style, but it has a unique feature in the safety pin fastening. This long sleeved, 100% wool cardigan by Paul Costelloe at John Lewis is beautifully finished and will keep you warm and cosy on those autumnal evenings. It is a long-line cardigan with long sleeves and a V-neck top. It comes in a lovely grey and black stripe and is £149. Wear it over a little black dress as an outer-wear alternative to a coat, or with black riding boots and leggings. Add a touch of colour to your outfit with a large tote in purple or red.
