All of you super savvy fashionistas out there love to keep up to date with the latest trends and fashion happenings – I try to do exactly the same and I’m sure you’ll agree, blogs can be one of the best places to go for all your style inspo needs. Every now and then I would like to offer up a little slice of personal style, providing my take on day-to-day practical outfits for those of us who like to stay on trend but simply cannot be bothered to squeeze into 6 inch heels and tight dresses every day. Personal Style: The Last Days of Summer
So, merely a few days ago, summer finally decided to make an appearance up here in Glasgow before swiftly packing its bags and leaving us for another year. On its very brief visit however it brought clear skies and some gloriously hot sunshine, (cue a lovely graphic of Scotland covered in little yellow suns…) and it was amazing!
My boyfriend Glyn and I went out for a walk, literally just down the road from my parents’ house, to make the most of it and take a few snaps. It was so lovely not having to worry about wearing the right tights or whether I had enough extra layers on to keep warm. This dress (£10.00 in the sale from New Look) was all I needed and it was just perfect.
The floral print dress has an elasticated waist band with a tie to cover it – super comfy – fitted in the right areas and the perfect length for me.
Paired with brown gladiator sandals and bright pink nail polish it was a really cute and quick summery outfit. Although, I’ve got a funny feeling the next time I whack this dress on will be with my chunky cable knit cardigan and thick woolly tights. Ah Summer, you seem to go by so fast!
