Hello Readers

“Pop!!” It’s official – I am no longer a blog virgin!!

I’ve wanted to start a blog for ages but just never get round to it. Plus I’m also not sure if I’ve got enough interesting stuff to talk about. Since this blog is a collaborative work between a group of writers, I think I might be able to interject some thoughts here and there…..well that’s what I’m hoping anyway!!

First of all let me introduce myself and tell you a little bit about me. My name is Claire. I live in the amazingly cosmopolitan city of Manchester which I do love to bits!!  Not only for its uniquely diverse fashion agendas [there is always something new and interesting to look at, on any given trip to the city centre]. But also for its northern spirit, people are on the whole a friendly bunch- some more than others!! I can’t recall a time I’ve been out and about and not had an interaction with some random passerby, who just had to pass comment on my chosen hair style at the time. Whilst these interactions often take me by surprise, they never fail to make me smile, and that is why I love this city.

Anyway enough about the city I live in, this is a fashion blog so let’s get on to the fashion stuff. Who are my favourite designers?? That’s an easy one, I love, love, love Alexander McQueen, Vivienne Westwood, Ben Di Lisi, Manolo Blahnik and Christian Louboutin to name but a few, however I am yet to acquire any items designed by these amazing people, instead I am restrained to buying high street for now until the financial shackles are loosened and I can spend, spend, spend to my hearts content!! I could bore you with more stuff about me but I’m sure that as this blog continues you’ll learn more and more about me and my passions and dislikes and no doubt my ridiculous shoe addiction!!

As I sit here wondering what pearls of wisdom I can share with the world, I need not fret as the world of fashion is ever changing and in a constant state of flux! Which makes my job easier, so what fashion story peaked my interest in the past few days??

Well it has got to be the amazing news that H&M are collaborating with Donatella Versace…..OMG!! Versace for H&M is due to launch on the 17th November 2011, online and in 300 stores worldwide and will include ranges for women, men and selected items for the home such as; cushions and a bedspread. This alliance is bound to be another guaranteed success with stores selling out before you can say “Do you have this in a size 10??”

It is an interesting turn around for Ms Versace as it was claimed [back in 2008], that she previously stated that a diffusion line would “dilute and confuse the brand.” Luckily for us she has changed her mind and the collaboration has gone ahead. Yey!!

If you’re anything like me, then the countdown to the launch is already a fixture on your calendar, only 145 days to go and counting!! So what should we expect from this partnership??

The exclusive collection will be Versace through and through, with the brilliant advantage of being at affordable H&M prices, making hot pieces of designer-wear accessible to all. It will look back through the iconic days of Versace and taps into the heritage of the brand. Design features that are are synonymous with the Italian fashion house will feature heavily; such as leather, prints, masses of vibrant colour and the use of exclusive materials typical of Versace.

Dresses are going to dominate the Womenswear range featuring studded leather and colourful prints. Check out the picture of Donatella below wearing one of the dresses from the Versace for H&M Collection at the Versace men’s fashion show in Milan June 20th 2011. Amazing!! In addition to the clothes, there will be signature accessories including high heels and costume jewellery!!

The collection promises to be “glamorous and flamboyant” just like its awe-inspiring designer. It has been described as perfect for the forthcoming party season that follows the launch [I won’t say the word yet....it is a bit too early, I couldn’t cope with the excitement of x**s on top of this news I might spontaneously combust!!]. So make sure you’re first in the queue to guarantee you get your hands on the winters killer high street line as I’m predicting there will be huge stampedes come November 17th. See you at the front door!!

Love

C xx
